Description
Linyphia triangularis is one of the largest Money Spiders (Linyphiidae). These spiders are also known as sheet or hammock weavers because they spin a sheet of web under which they hang, waiting for insects deflected by "guide threads" to fall into it. This sub-adult male was found in my garden (Ipswich, East Suffolk, TM166450) on 27 July 2015. The tuning fork shaped mark on the carapace is characteristic of this species. ID confirmed by Paul Lee, Suffolk Spider Recorder.
