Description
Amphidinium (am-fee-din-ee-um) scissum Kofoid & Swezy 1921. The image on the left shows a cell in lateral view. The shape of the cell is elliptical. The cell contains no plastids, but contains a large food particle. The cell surface is striated. The image on the right shows a cell in dorsal view, with a large central nucleus visible. The epicone is near the anterior end of the cell.
