Description
Chytriomyces (kit-rio-my-sees). This is chytrid, in which the cytoplasm usually resides in a large structure (thallus or sporangium) from which a system of branching elements (rhizoidal system) emerges. This image is from a culture and most cytoplasm seems to have been lost. Phase contrast.
