S.Soundarapandian (talk) 18:12, 23 February 2013 (UTC)PD-self  Tamil: 1=வேலிக் காத்தான், சீமைக் கருவை ,வேலிக் கருவை , காட்டுக் கருவேல மரம் என்ற பெயர்களால் இது அழைக்கப்படுகிறது;பெரும்பாலும் விறகுக்கே பயன்படுகிறது; விளைந்த மரத்திலிருந்து தேன் நிறத்தில் பிசின் வடியும் ; நிலத்தின் வளத்தைக் கெடுப்பதால் , இதனைக் களையாகக் (Weed)கருதுவர் ;கருவேல மரம் (Acacia nilotica) இதனினும் வேறானது;1950களில்தான் முதன்முதலாக இது இந்தியாவிற்குள் நுழைந்தது என்பர்; எனவே இது பழந்தமிழகத்து மரமல்ல.
