Description | Tamarix chinensis Lour. (syn. T. ramosissima) is a Utah Class C state noxious weed and is the subject of significant and continual eradication efforts. The flowers are 5-merous (although, that is difficult to discern above). The shrubs/trees typically continue to produce a multitude of small flowers throughout the summer and into the fall leading to copious amounts of seed. Common names include Tamarisk, Saltcedar, Chinese Tamarisk and Five-stamen Tamarisk. August 4, 2012, along the Jordan River, mid-valley, Salt Lake County, Utah |
